1. Schneider‘s Theatre II® Snack Maker: This product is placed in the Snack Maker after heating the oil. The process takes approximately 24-30 seconds and the result is a great tasting snack. To make this product place 4 tbsp. Schneider’s Coconut Oil or 5 tbsp. Schneider’s Premium Canola Oil in the Schneider’s Theatre ll® Snack Maker. Heat oil, add 1/2 cup Kaktus Chips. DO NOT CLOSE LID - continuously turn stirring mechanism. Turn mechanism both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. Process is complete in 24-30 seconds. Remove from heat, remove oil from popper by holding lid firmly in place - oil can be recycled. Place paper towel in colander or bowl, place chips in container and allow to cool. Place in bag/bowl, add 2 tsp. of your favorite Schneider’s seasoning, toss and enjoy.
2. Deep Fryer: Heat oil. Place 1/4 cup Kaktus Chips into oil. Process is complete in approximately 20 seconds. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
3. Oven: Preheat oven to 500F. Stir 1 tbsp. oil into 1/2 cup Kaktus Chips. Coat well. Evenly distribute Kaktus Chips on a cookie sheet. Bake for l 1/2 — 3 minutes or until puffed.
4. Microwave: Stir 1 tbsp. oil into 1/2 cup Kaktus Chips. Coat well. Place Kaktus Chips into microwavable dish. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. HINT: Moisture is added to microwave by placing 1 cup water on high for 2 minutes. This process ensures the finished product is light and fluffy.
5 . Pot or Wok: Place 4-6 tbsp. of oil in wok. Allow oil to heat. Place 1/2 cup Kaktus Chips into pot/wok. Use slotted spoon to remove puffed Kaktus Chips from pot/wok. As with the Snack Maker and the deep fryer, this method is extremely quick. The entire procedure takes approximately 20-30 seconds.
6. Hot Air Popper: The Wheat Kaktus expands the most of all three varieties. If an individual wishes to place the Wheat Kaktus in a hot air popper, they will have to reduce the quantity they are placing in the popper. lf using large quantities, they may get stuck. Heat popper for two minutes. Add 1/4 cup Kaktus Chips.
The Hot Air Popper, the Microwave, and the Oven are considered a dry heat versus the oil being a wet heat. A dry heat versus a wet heat does not allow the product to puff to its maximum size.
Keep in mind that there really is no right way or wrong way to eat a snack! What one individual thinks is great another may simply hate the entire concept.
